Inland Sri Lanka is covered in stunning, beautiful terraced tea fields famous for growing tea since the British Colonial times! In fact, English is widely spoken on the island making communication on this tropical island that much easier! A visit to a plantation makes for a great excursion. You can learn all about the tea making process and finish the day off with a traditional afternoon tea just like the Raj's did all those years ago!
When it's time to relax it is then back to the coast to soak up the sun on one of the island's many amazing beaches and enjoy the Sri Lankan hospitality. It should be noted that Sri Lankan's enjoy an abundance of holy festivals and public holidays throughout the year where the locals will take to the decoratively adorned streets and flock to the one of the many temples, these days are called Poya days and it should be noted that no alcohol is served on such days.
