SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM ALL AT SUNWAY!

Penang

1/1

Penang

Just shy of one hour’s flight from Kuala Lumpur, Penang has long been a favourite holiday destination and is often referred to as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’. Penang enjoys an equatorial climate making it a year round destination. As with the rest of Malaysia there is a wet season, with tropical showers common during September to November. Rainfall is often in the evening. It is a tropical island with rainforest and sandy beaches. Penang is small but hilly in parts which means some regional variation in the weather.

Considered a livelier island than Langkawi offering a lot more in the way of nightlife, Penang is diverse in in its customs but with a particularly distinct Asian atmosphere, most notably in the capital of Georgetown. It is a busy contrast to the beaches and relaxed resorts nearby. Penang is renowned for its food and with a wide choice of Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine available, be sure to try the Penang specialty of Laksa (A spicy noddle soup)! There are shopping opportunities aplenty, ranging from modern shopping centres, to street stalls and night markets. Plenty to entertain the night owl in you too!

Combine your Penang stay with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s bustling cosmopolitan capital city. Sunway will gladly tailor make an itinerary for you upon request.
