Day 1 - FLY TO BANGKOK
Fly overnight to the vibrant city of Bangkok.Depending on your time of arrival the rest ofthe day is yours to start soaking up the localculture.

Day 3 - FLY TO LUANG PRABANG
Fly to Luang Prabang. An enchanting city,Luang Prabang is the quintessential imageof Laos. At its core, lush greenery, goldentemples and vivid-robed monks come togetherto create a colourful, rich heritage and anenduring French-colonial legacy. Take awalking tour around the vibrant night market,keeping an eye out for craft souvenirs fromLaos' hill tribes as you go.
Day 4 - KUANG SI WATERFALLS
Rise early this morning to witness theBuddhist ceremony of Takbat, when themonks of Luang Prabang's monasticcommunities collect alms from locals. Theselines of silent saffron robe-clad monks will bean enduring image of your trip. See Wat Seneand the National Museum. Visit the traditionalH'mong village of Ban Na Ounae, beforewalking to the cascading turquoise waters ofKuang Si Waterfalls for a picnic lunch and aswim. Stop at Ock Pop Tok Weaving Centre onthe return to Luang Prabang..
Day 5 - PAK OU CAVES
Explore Wat Xieng Thong, considered LuangPrabang's most beautiful temple. Boarda boat to cruise the mighty Mekong up tothe sacred caves of Pak Ou, known for thehundreds of miniature Buddha sculptures thatreside within. Visit the local villages of ThinHong and Ban Xang Khong to witness thedaily life of the local people and their cottageindustries.
Day 6 - PHOUSI HILL
Climb Phousi Hill to admire the views downover the city before exploring Wat Mai, WatVisoun and Wat Aham. Enjoy an afternoon atleisure.
Day 7 - PHONSAVAN
Drive to Phonsavan via Phoukhoun, stoppingat Tham Phra Cave and Nong Tang Lake onthe way.
Day 8 - PLAIN OF JARS
One of the most important prehistoric sitesin Southeast Asia, these mysterious clustersof giant jars are thought to be about 2,000years old. We will visit Site 1 where there areover 200 jars, Site 2 which also allows youto admire the beautiful scenery of the regionand Site 3, situated in picturesque woodland.There will also be a visit to the office of theMines Advisory Group (MAG), an organisationthat helps clear unexploded ordnance thatare a remnant of American raids during theVietnam War. Take the opportunity to speakwith the organisation's head. (B,L,D)
Day 9 - VANG VIENG
Depart Phonsavan for Vang Vieng. Stop enroute at Pathang village, where you can enjoydramatic views over the karst landscapesfor which Vang Vieng is famous. On arrival,head into Tham Chang Cave to explore. Thecave was used as a hideout for locals whenmarauding Yunnanese came to town in theearly 19th century.
Day 10 - DISCOVER VIENTIANE
Drive to Vientiane, Laos' capital. Nestledin a languid bend in the Mekong, Vientianeis a delightfully quaint city, more friendlybackwater than chaotic capital. Spend therest of the day exploring with visits to Wat SiSaket, Wat Phra Keo, That Luang Stupa, andthe Patuxai Victory Monument, that resemblesParis' Arc de Triomphe.
Day 11 - SI PHAN DON
Rise early for a morning flight to Pakse. Onarrival, explore the UNESCO World HeritagelistedWat Phou, a ruined Khmer templecomplex set in the beautiful landscapes ofMount Phu Kao. Drive on to Khong Island,the largest island of the laidback Si Phan Donarchipelago in the Mekong River. The rest ofthe day is free.
Day 12 - 4,000 ISLANDS
Around Si Phan Don, meaning ‘4,000islands', the pace of life is slow and easyand the river views are gorgeous. See themagnificent Khone Phapheng Waterfall,Southeast Asia's largest, and pop over toKhone Island by speedboat to discover itscharming colonial buildings and see LiphiWaterfall, nicknamed the Devil's Corridor.Depending on the season, you may seetraditional fishing techniques in action. Spendthe rest of your day at leisure.
Day 13 - BOLAVEN PLATEAU
Depart Khong Island for Pakse, stopping enroute to admire Tad Yuang and Tad Fanewaterfalls. Continue up onto the BolavenPlateau to pay a visit to a coffee plantationand learn about the process of planting,harvesting and roasting the beans. Thisevening, enjoy a farewell dinner back in Pakse.
Day 14 - FLY PAKSE TO UK
Fly from Pakse to Bangkok, where you'll have dinner and the use of a hotel room before your evening flight back to the UK, arriving home the following day.
