Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive into Prague & evening street photography

Today our photography odyssey to Prague begins. After arriving in Prague, we will meet with our local tour guide and travel to our hotel in the centre of Czechia’s capital.

After checking in we will enjoy a warm welcome drink and an introduction to our Dublin Photography School tutors who will be with us throughout this exciting journey. This is a great chance to meet fellow travellers, ask questions and prepare for the exciting adventures that await us.
You will then have the afternoon at leisure to get a taste for the streets of Prague. The ‘City of 100 Spires’ is a warren of cobbled streets, hidden alleyways, and grand historic landmarks and is definitely one of Europe’s top places to visit.

Before the sun sets, let’s grab our camera gear and we’ll dive straight into the beauty of Prague with a street photography session in the heart of the Old Town. We will capture the magic of the winding cobblestone streets, the sun setting on iconic Charles Bridge, and the Old Town Square. The Dublin Photography School team will be there to guide you with using the best camera settings, finding the best angles, playing with light, and capturing the city’s night-time magic

For a special touch, we’ll pause to discuss panoramic photography techniques before ascending the Charles Bridge Tower. Space inside is limited, so before heading up, we’ll provide expert guidance on the best settings and angles to ensure you capture the breathtaking cityscape in all its illuminated splendour.

Day 2 – Jewish quarter & Vyšehrad

Our gothic adventure continues today while we capture the haunting beauty of Prague’s former Jewish quarter. Once home to the city’s Jewish community, this neighbourhood is a striking blend of ornate synagogues, charming townhouses, and poignant historical landmarks.

With a focus on textures, light, and contrast, we’ll capture evocative images of the Jewish Cemetery, where centuries-old gravestones lean against one another, creating dramatic compositions perfect for black-and-white photography. We will capture atmospheric shots that emphasize detail and history in this poignant setting.

This afternoon we will travel to the area of Vyšehrad in Prague’s south-east via tram accompanied by our local guide. An ancient fortress perched high above the Vltava River, this often-overlooked gem offers some of the best panoramic views of Prague. We’ll photograph the dramatic spires and intricate details of St. Peter and St. Paul Church, perfect for architectural shots. Then, we’ll capture the solemn beauty of Vysehrad Cemetery and Slavin’s tombstone and sculptures. Finally, we’ll explore the atmospheric Casemates of Gorlice Hall, using smartphones cameras as our bigger cameras aren’t allowed, an excellent chance to master phone photography while embracing the gothic textures of the space.

Throughout the day, the Dublin Photography School tutors will help you refine your techniques to capture the history, atmosphere, and architecture of these iconic locations.

This evening is free for you to spend as you wish. Why not explore some of Prague’s bars or just wander down to Charles Bridge and admire the city lit up by night.

Day 3 – Prague walking tour, underground dungeons & evening river cruise

Today it’s time to discover more of Prague with a walking tour led by our expert local guide. We will immerse ourselves in more of Prague’s rich history and see Prague’s iconic highlights such as Prague’s Astrological Clock, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. It’s the perfect opportunity to step away from your camera and fully embrace the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of Prague.
However, Prague’s history is not only visible above ground, so much more of the city lies hidden beneath the streets. In the afternoon, we will descend into Prague’s underground dungeons, stepping back into medieval times offering eerie chambers, historical exhibits, and a secret alchemist’s laboratory, perfect for capturing dramatic, moody shots with lighting and shadows to enhance the atmosphere.

This evening is sure to be a highlight of our photography trip to Prague with a cruise on the Vltava river at night. This cruise offers breathtaking views of Prague’s skyline and historic landmarks, perfect for capturing the city’s beauty from the water.

Day 4 – At Leisure & return home

Enjoy a final morning at leisure to explore Prague at your own pace and put everything you’ve learned into practice – maybe that is refining your black-and-white, texture, or architectural shots.
Why not head up to Prague castle and shoot the spires of St Vitus’ Cathedral & its Bohemian architecture. Or head a local brewery to taste some authentic Czech pilsner. This is your time to enjoy and capture the essence of the city.

In the late afternoon, we’ll head to the airport for our flight home. We will leave with lasting memories, new skills, and a camera full of stunning photos.
