Cefalu

Sicily, Italy Palermo

The origins of Cefalu date back to the time of Sicily being a Greek colony but it is, in essence, a 12th century Norman town
● The building of the cathedral, at the behest of King Roger II, was begun in 1131.

The town is one hour east of Palermo, sitting peacefully at the mouth of a beautiful natural bay with the dramatic mountain of La Rocca as an impressive backdrop. The streets of Cefalu immediately return you to the Middle Ages and its wonderful sandy beach may entice you to stay there.

A little to the south of the town is the Madonie National Park dotted with charming villages, exquisite views, and wonderful walking routes. What Cefalu lacks in size it more than makes up for in delight.

Transfer from Palermo airport approx. 90 minutes.
