Rhodes

Rhodes, Greece

Rhodes has been attracting travellers to its shores for thousands of years. As a fortress, as a place of seclusion or as a gateway to the past it has enchanted and charmed all who visit. And today is no different. Even its beaches are world famous
● Lindos, Anthony Quinn, Faliraki to name but a few. Some secluded, some crowded and cosmopolitan yet all pristine and full of character. And of course, watersports are a speciality of the island for those seeking a more adventurous holiday.

The capital of the island, Rhodes offers a wide choice of nightlife. In the area around the harbour there are many bars and traditional Greek taverns, while in the New town one can hear the sounds of the bouzouki and many other traditional instruments drifting from beyond the buzzy restaurants and local bars. The epicentre of nightlife on Rhodes is its famous “Bar Street” (known as Orfanidou), located near the waterfront, full of trendy clubs and disco-bars, promising a fun night, high spirits and perhaps the occasional sore head the next morning! Of course if food is your thing then Rhodes will not disappoint. Greeks are very serious about cooking AND eating. There are a myriad of restaurants and cuisines to choose, from Greek traditional to International. Even fast food on Rhodes is healthy and satisfying
● you must try a Gyros!

If you wish to steep yourself in history you have to visit Rhodes Old Town. This UNESCO World Heritage site is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Here you can visit the Venetian Castle, the Palace of the Grand Master and the Street of the Knights. Beyond the old town, there is the stunning Acropolis of Lindos and monastery of Filerimos. And then there are the villages. set in the picturesque landscape. They have a charm all of their own, away from the crowds, maintaining a traditional way of life that is a perfect antidote to our modern, hectic lives.

Rhodes has everything the weary traveller or the thrill seeker needs. It makes room for the family or the romantic couple and never fails to bring visitors back again and again.

Transfer from Rhodes airport approx. 25 mins.
