Trulli Resort

Alberobello, Puglia

Alberobello is the best place to see Puglia's most iconic image—trulli, unique huts with conical roofs found scattered amongst the olive groves all over the Valle d'Itria in southern Italy. These strange limestone dwellings look like somewhere a hobbit might reside and there's nothing else like them anywhere in the world. Trulli are conical stone huts built using drywall construction, a prehistoric building technique that is still used in the region today. You can find trulli all over the countryside in various states of disrepair, some derelict and beginning to be absorbed back into the limestone earth, others restored to their former glory and now used to house tourists. The biggest concentration of trulli is in Alberobello, a whole town made of 1500 trulli and a UNESCO world heritage site. Elegantly set in an extensive garden covering one hectare, Trulli Resort dominates the hills of Alberobello, which is known for its “trulli”, typical local dwellings going back to the end of the 1800s. These were fully restored at the end of 2016 to preserve the architectural style of the period. Located 1.2 km from Trullo Church of St. Anthony, Trulli Resort offers a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, a garden and air-conditioned accommodation with a patio and free WiFi. Breakfast can be arranged & delivered to the room. Trulli Resort also features a fitness centre & massage services. If you wish to indulge in the bright lights and glamour of the town centre, Trulli is only 5 minutes away from the busy squares of Alberobello.
