Cala'n Blanes/Cala'n Forcat

Menorca, Balearic Islands

Whilst Menorca has a reputation as the quietest of the Balearic Islands Cala'n Forcat is considered one of the busiest resorts on the island with plenty of sights to see and things to do. Located on the west coast of the island, Cala'n Forcat mixes pleasant nightlife with lots of children's entertainment options making this resort particularly suitable for families and couples alike. The small beach here is set within a deep inlet surrounded by a rocky headland and ideal for swimming off the rocks and jump sites for divers and snorkelers. There is a wider sandy beach at neighbouring Cala'n Blanes which is accessible by taking the 'mini road train' which runs at regular intervals. It is a particularly family friendly resort with many of the restaurants even offering the kids games and activities to keep little minds busy at mealtimes!

Cala'n Blanes with its beautiful and perhaps best beach in the area, is one of Menorca's newest resorts and merges with Cala'n Forcat and Los Delfines making the three resorts possibly the largest tourist development on the island. The sandy beach is set within a cove with lovely calm shallow waters. There are some water sports for hire and beach cafes for drinks and snacks during the day. You can walk to some other coves from here also. The Cami de Cavalls is a series of coastal paths around the island making walking, cycling and pony trekking very popular leisure activities. Cala'n Blanes is described as a lively resort with ample entertainment options and is a popular destination on the Irish market. Los Delfines is a continuation of the resort trio with the mini train making all three's facilities and beaches readily accessible.

The ancient town of Ciutadella (the island's former capital) is only a short drive, or bus ride, away and provides for an excellent day trip. With its ancient Baroque and Gothic architecture, quaint narrow cobbled streets, shops and restaurants aplenty it is a fascinating and atmospheric place to visit. The Aqua Rock water park in nearby Cala'n Bosch makes for a great day out too with loads of swimming pools, slides and rides. Plenty of fun for all ages!

This trio of mini-resorts offer everything you need for your Menorcan holiday, plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and a lovely selection of small beaches and cute coves. Perfect for long relaxing days in the sun and enjoyable evenings.

Transfer time from Mahon Airport approx. 1 hour 10 mins.
