PortoBay Liberdade is the PortoBay Group's new five-star hotel in Lisbon. The hotel is located in the heart of the city, 30 metres from Avenida da Liberdade, the most luxurious avenue in Portugal. The hotel offers both the centrality and frenzy of the Avenida, and the benefits of comfort and tranquillity of Rua Rosa Araujo. As you step outside the hotel, you will find top-notch luxury stores and international brands, such as Michael Kors, Montblanc, Prada, Emporio Armani, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, David Rosas, Gucci, Boss as well as interesting esplanades and restaurants. The Chiado, Baixa, Principe Real, Bairro Alto, Marques de Pombal, are all just a pleasant stroll away. This boutique property provides an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa, making it an urban resort but with a great city centre location. All 98 rooms are spacious and come clad in blues and browns with lots of wood. Bathrooms have tubs and rain showers and Aromatherapy Associate amenities. There are two bars here: the small Deck 7, open in summer on the rooftop terrace, is inset with a hot tub and has a menu of classic cocktails such as mojito and margaritas. The other, Aviator6, is just outside the main entrance on the ground floor, and spills out onto the pavement in summer; a good range of local wines and spirits is served. The restaurant, Bistrô4, is all about the concept of ‘bistronomy’, bringing together classic French dishes fused with regional Portuguese cuisine and a nod to Brazilian influences. The hotel itself is converted from three imposing turn-of-the century buildings & cuts an impressive picture on a leafy side street with an elegant, belle époque facade, beautifully preserved by architect Frederico Valsassina.
