Estoril lies just 20km from Lisbon and sits majestically over a stunning marina and old port. It is a fashionable cosmopolitan playground with one of Europe's largest casinos, a formula one racing track, fine golf courses and attractive sandy beaches.

Eventhough it has been developed as a tourist resort, Estoril still manages to retain its traditional charm.

Beaches on the Estoril coast face south in a continuous line from the Tagus estuary and are known for their calm waters and fine sand. The beaches are linked by a walkway that is dotted with snack bars, restaurants and cafes along the way. A pleasant beachfront promenade links Estoril to the wonderful Cascais and makes for a great afternoon stroll. Sit on the boardwalk overlooking the beach or take a stroll in the park. On both sides of the park there are plenty of stylish shops to browse in.

The casino is a great spot for entertainment with nightly cabaret, a selection of bars, restaurant, café and music hall shows in a sophisticated atmosphere. It was actually the inspiration behind the James Bond movie Casino Royale. The hotel opposite the casino was also featured in another James Bond movie! Estoril has a huge variety of restaurants ensuring a great dining out experience for all. Golfers are well catered for in this area with several fine courses to choose from.
