Marbella

Costa del Sol, Spain

Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Blanca, Marbella has become one of the most exciting holiday resorts along the Mediterranean coast. Exuding a cosmopolitan atmosphere it has long since been regarded as a holiday playground for the rich and famous, so who knows who you might spot having dinner at the next table! Marbella offers beautiful beaches, parks, gardens, romantic narrow lanes in Moorish tradition, superb shopping, great entertainment, a huge selection of restaurants and trendy bars. All of this combines to make this chic resort an unforgettable experience.

The Marbella coastline stretches for 26km and is full of golden sandy beaches. The beaches offer a variety of water sports, chiringuitos (beach bars), childrens play areas, cafes, restaurants, shops and luxury beach clubs. El Faro beach is very popular with families due to its outdoor play area. Nagüeles beach is on Marbella's ‘Golden Mile' and next to the Marbella Beach Club. The golden mile goes from Ricardo Soriano road to the entrance to Puerto Banus and is considered to be the luxury end of Marbella. Fontanilla beach is particularly good for water sports and is located next to the port. La Bajadilla is next to the fishing port and is very popular due to its tranquil waters. Banana beach is very popular with young people dues its lively atmosphere and music in the beach bars. There are many more beaches besides the ones mentioned here so you'll be spoilt for choice.

The old town is full of traditional narrow streets and pedestrianized plazas leading to the Plaza de Naranja where the town hall is located. In the renowned Plaza de Naranja (Orange Square) you can while away the hours in the pleasant cafes or do a spot of shopping in the trendy boutiques and gift stores or visit art galleries. The traditional narrow streets and alleys leading off Orange Square are full of more shops, some excellent restaurants and bars. A hub of activity at day or night! Take a leisurely stroll along the promenade which winds its way around the coast for about 6km. It is lined with cafes and restaurants.

La Alameda Park is a lovely spot to visit. The gardens are full of tropical flowers, fountains, open exhibition areas and from here you can book your horse and carriage tour of Marbella! There are 10 golf courses in the Marbella area alone and a host more in the surrounding areas. If you want to party there is ample opportunity to do so with glamourous beach clubs, trendy cocktail bars and nightclubs aplenty!

Transfer time from Malaga Airport approx. 50 mins.
